Winter Wear
Ice skating in style
A good coat goes a long way! I bought this coat a few years ago at American Eagle for over $100 — probably the most I’ve ever spent on one item. (I’m a thrift-shopping bargain hunter.) But I also know it will last me many more years … And it keeps me warm.
I envy those who have closets of few high-quality expensive items versus several low-quality inexpensive items. (Do those people even exist? Surely they do.) Although I’m not one of them, I can pretend to be while I’m wearing this coat. 😉

Throwback Outfit Thursday
Throwin’ it all the way back to February 2014
One of my favorite office outfits! You can’t tell from this picture, but these emerald green pants are textured with a floral design. I paired them with a striped T, tailored jacket, scarf, and boots.
fun fact: My (then) 5-year-old daughter took this photo. The blur around the edges is because she was moving the camera. It’s a wonder that I’m not blurry! It was so windy that day, and the blooper shots are hilarious! I’ll have to share those sometime. 😉

Outfit of the Day
Toning down these fun orange skinnies with neutral pieces and coral accessories (i.e. making orange skinnies look less like a traffic cone)
Okay, okay, I realize colored skinny jeans were much more “in” last year than they are this year, but I still love them! I have so many neutral shirts that it’s nice to have something bright to pair with them. In today’s outfit, I used neutrals and pastels to tone down the traffic-cone-factor in these orange skinnies.
